Investing in Community

Preserving Vancouver's cultural heritage, one landmark at a time.

Commitment to the Community

For over five decades, Wall Financial Corporation has invested in the communities where we live and build. From landmark educational gifts and arts sponsorships to grassroots support for hospitals and food banks, our commitment extends far beyond real estate. We believe that building communities means investing in the people, culture, and institutions that make them thrive.

Rooted in Community

Wall Financial Corporation's approach to community investment reflects the values of our Co-Founder & Visionary Leader, Peter Wall, a belief that success is measured not only by what you build, but by what you give back. From his historic $15 million gift to the University of British Columbia to decades of sponsoring Vancouver's arts and cultural institutions, the Wall family legacy is one of meaningful, lasting impact.

Today, that philosophy continues through targeted support for healthcare, education, arts, and community organizations across Metro Vancouver.

Education & Research

Peter Wall Institute of Advanced Studies at UBC

In 1991, Peter Wall, Co-Founder & Visionary Leader, made a transformative $15 million gift to the University of British Columbia, the largest donation in the university's 76-year history at the time. The gift established the Peter Wall Institute of Advanced Studies, modelled after Princeton's Institute for Advanced Studies, creating a centre for interdisciplinary research and scholarly collaboration that continues to shape academic excellence today.

Hastings Racecourse

A Passion for Vancouver Racing

Peter Wall, Co-Founder & Visionary Leader, was a well-known figure in British Columbia's horse racing community, with over 25 years of involvement at racetracks across North America. A fixture at Exhibition Park (now Hastings Racecourse), Wall's passion for the sport was matched by his success, including winning the $1 million Pacific Classic at Del Mar with Missionary Ridge and sharing in a record $2.2 million Sweep Six payout at Exhibition Park.

Press releases came to refer to him as a "sportsman-philanthropist," recognizing that his involvement in racing was part of the same spirit of community engagement that defined his approach to business and giving.
